Partnerships

Sponsor questions, answered.

What each tier includes, how book royalties are handled, and exactly what happens once a spot is confirmed.

What partner tiers are available?
Trail partner at €2,900 a year No VAT charged — not VAT-registered, ten spots; Summit partner at €7,900 a year No VAT charged — not VAT-registered, ten spots; Expedition partner at €25,000 a year No VAT charged — not VAT-registered, ten spots. There is also a custom Enterprise option, priced by conversation, for a single naming partner or a bespoke programme.
Why only ten spots per tier?
Ten keeps every partner visible. Terms are annual, and spots free up at renewal. When a tier is full, inquiries go to the waitlist and we contact you the moment a spot opens.
What do I actually get for the money?
Real use of your product in real training blocks, plus honest dated content: a field review, tagged mentions across Instagram, Strava, YouTube and LinkedIn, and — at the higher tiers — logo placement, quarterly training-block features, podcast mentions and agreed photo usage rights.
Do the packages include a share of book royalties?
No. None of the partner packages includes a royalty share. Higher tiers can include a named mention in the planned book series, but that is a credit, not a financial interest in the books.
Could a royalty arrangement ever be part of a deal?
Only under a separate written agreement, and only for the custom Enterprise option. Nothing is published about rates because no rate has been agreed. If it were ever agreed, the contract would state the calculation basis, the reporting cadence and the payment timing in writing before anything was signed.
What happens right after I submit an inquiry?
Your spot is held the moment the reservation succeeds, and the page confirms it on screen. You receive a confirmation email from hello@notify.project171.com. If two brands apply at the same moment, only one holds the last spot — the other is offered the waitlist immediately, never a false confirmation.
Then what?
Fredrik replies personally, usually within a few days, with questions about fit and what you would like tested. If it is a fit, you get a short written agreement covering the deliverables, timing and product supply. The spot stays held while that conversation runs.
When do I pay?
Only after the written agreement is in place. Nothing is charged on the site, and no card details are collected by the inquiry form.
Can I withdraw?
Yes, at any point before the agreement is signed — just reply to the confirmation email and the spot is released back to the tier.
What happens to my details?
Your company name, contact name and email are used only to discuss sponsorship. No trackers, no profiling, no sharing. Write to contact@project171.com to have them removed.
Will you partner with any brand?
No. Only products we would genuinely carry on the trail. An honest field review is the whole point, so a product that does not earn its place in the pack will be reported that way.
How is a paid partnership disclosed?
Clearly and every time. Any post, film, newsletter, guide section or review involving a partner carries a visible sponsored or paid-partnership label, including on social channels. Free product counts as payment and is labelled the same way. The verdict stays honest: a partner cannot review, approve or remove what is written, and nothing we say about a product is conditional on the fee.
